A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Thus, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly call to account all those unto whom a [divine] message was sent, and We shall most certainly call to account the message-bearers [themselves]; 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 And true will be the weighing on that Day; and those whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state; 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
