We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 until the day of a known time." 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
