The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
