The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
