The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day resplendent 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
