Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
