We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 It is a Blessed Book that We have sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad), so that those possessed with minds might ponder its verses and remember. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When the noble galloping horses were displayed to him one evening, 31 And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain. 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 And, indeed We did try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasadan (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) but he did return (to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah and he did return) to Allah with obedience and in repentance. 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 And We subjected to him the evil ones: every builder and diver. 37 The rest of the devils were bound in chains. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 And he has a place near to Us, and a fine return. 40
