۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of delight, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
