Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
