HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
