The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 So whoever desires more than these two they are crossing the limits. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
