Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 “Go to Firaun, he has rebelled.” 24
