The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
