The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
