The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a return for the insolent, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
