Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
