The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
