Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 watching over you 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
