۞ No sooner the example of the son of Mary was mentioned than, lo and behold, your people raised a clamour 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
