The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
