The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
