T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 "Behold, [although] I have willed to keep it hidden, the Last Hour is bound to come, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with what he strove for [in life]. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 “In order that We may show you Our great signs.” 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
