The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when their brother Noah said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 106 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you; 107 "So fear Allah, and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 "So fear Allah, and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: Shall we believe in you while the meanest follow you? 111 He said: "It is not for me to know what they were doing. 112 “Indeed their account is only upon my Lord, if you perceive.” 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am only a Prophet. 115 They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death." 116 He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies. 117 so give true deliverance between me and them, and deliver me and the believers that are with me. 118 So We saved him and those with him in a laden ship. 119 and then We caused those who stayed behind to drown. 120 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 121 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 122
