SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 Ye are therefrom averting. 68 I had no knowledge of the Exalted Assembly when they argued [against the creation of man]: 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 And when I have made him and have breathed into him of My spirit. Fall down in homage before him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?" 75 He said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him from clay." 76 'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. 77 'My curse shall rest on you until the Day of Recompense' 78 He said, “My Lord! Therefore give me respite till the day when all will be raised.” 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 The Lord said, "I swear by the Truth - and I speak the Truth - 84 That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all. 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 You will know the truth of the matter after a while.” 88
