The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
