The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right. 38
