The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
