The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
