The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
