Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
