Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 "I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
