The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
