Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
