Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
