Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
