The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
