And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
