So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
