The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
