WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 From the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility? 38 By no means! Surely We have created them of what they know. 39 But nay! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised - 42 A day when they will come out of the graves in haste, as if rushing towards their goals. 43 Their eyes lowered in dejection, ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised! 44
