Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
