He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 So you are after him! 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
