The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 by a burning fire 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
