The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
