The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
