Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 (It will be said): 'Indeed, cast into Gehenna (Hell) every deviating unbeliever, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
