The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty God's Truth.
