Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
