And whosoever blindeth himself to the admonition of the Compassionate, We assign unto him a satan, and he becometh his companion. 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
