The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
